Better than Vlogs was a single-player let's play series that Jacob created in the fall of 2013. The series revolved around Jacob playing the Minecraft mod Better than Wolves while talking about his day, similar to the popular genre of "vlogging."

The series was taken down from the entertainment channel before the Displaced launch, which Jacob anticipated would bring a large number of new viewers to the channel. Looking back on the series, Jacob disliked how personal some of his "discussions" got, and recognized that the production quality of the series was very low, leading him to decide that people might take Displaced more seriously if they did not see Better than Vlogs in the channel's history.

Before taking the series down, Jacob tricked Brett and Drake into watching the entire series, including an hour-long special where Jacob answered every question on a list of 101 Conversation Starters, by telling them that he had mentioned what the next version of the Nerd on the Street Modpack would be somewhere in the series. Brett and Drake were each unaware that the other was watching the series, but both independently found Jacob making a joke about a mod pack with "every version of every mod ever" late in the series, which Jacob had forgotten about prior to telling them to watch the videos.
